Gear Review: Immersion Research Highwater Hoody

Value Rating: 10 Durability Rating: 9 Overall Rating: 10 Location of Test: Paddling, hiking, Lifestyling Duration of Test: 1 week Product Name: Highwater Hoody Product Brand: Immersion Research Best Use: Staying warm and looking stylish Sizes: S, M, L IR Highwater Hoody The Full Review: I love IR's base layers. I have the onesie as well as a few other select pieces. The thing I love the most is the versatility of their garments. I wear the thin weight top as a daily wear shirt and the onesie is my go-to for cold days here in the pacific northwest. Hiking, biking, climbing and of course paddling these threads keep me warm. They dry quickly and don't hold the stench of other non-cotton layers. While not merino wool, I'm still super satisfied with the performance of these layers. The hoody is a welcome addition. Now I don't have any worries about going from river to social function with a well-cut, good looking and comfy top to pull over in case it’s a bit chilly at the bar I was supposed to be at an hour prior. The hoody lets me send without worrying about that extra change of clothes.
The Good IR comfy cut and style. Materials are quick drying and pleasing to the skin. The Bad: Not a super deep selection of colors but black is beautiful. The Bottom Line: My new favorite hoody for fall and winter and cold weather trips.
