Great Sock Giveaway - Next Adventure

Great Sock Giveaway

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE GREAT SOCK GIVEAWAY

This December 3rd, Next Adventure will hold the annual Great Sock Giveaway. Next Adventure’s Co-Founders, Deek and Bryan, recently got together to talk about how the Great Sock Giveaway got started. Almost 20 years ago Deek and Bryan were looking for a way to give back to their community when they had the idea to donate socks to local charities.

“We've given away over a thousand pairs of socks every year. And we always call it a win, win, win. Customers get 20% off. And we get to give away really nice, high-quality merino wool socks to a really valuable nonprofit.” Deek explained.

Jack Powell, from Wigwam Socks, partnered with them to supply the socks. They offered 20% off all socks and, for every pair purchased, they will donate a pair of Wigwam socks to a local charity.

“We get to see familiar faces every year. It seems like we're supported by a lot of the same people and it's fun to say hi.” Bryan added.

Anyone who comes by the store, on the corner of Stark and Grand Avenue, will be sure to see Deek, Bryan, and others dressed in holiday costumes dancing on the street corner and running around the store.

“Bryan lost a bet. He made a bet with the staff and they won. They got to choose what his punishment was. They said, We want you to dress up like Santa Claus for the Great Sock Giveaway. And, of course, being the selfless person that he is, he's like, well, I'll only be Santa Claus if he'll be an elf.” So every year you can find Bryan in his Santa suit and Deek in his elf costume.

Thanks to Wigwam socks and to everyone in our community who has supported the Great Sock Giveaway over the last two decades. We’re excited to donate thousands of socks this year and in the years to come! We hope to see you there!
