Are you eager to learn about eCommerce while working on a state-of-the-art website? As an eCommerce merchandiser, you will serve an important role helping to provide a world-class shopping and customer service experience while learning all about the latest eCommerce software and best practices. This is a full-time position that reports directly to the Web Merchandising Manager.

 

General Description of Position

The Ecommerce Merchandiser (EM) is responsible for accurately and efficiently  merchandising products and product categories on the Next Adventure website along with writing product copy from time to time. The EM gathers all copy, images, and specs for products and configures magento to display them to maximize sales and create an excellent online shopping experience. The EM also meets with the Web Merchandising Manager to collaborate on project goals and timelines.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Gathering product descriptions and specs from manufacturer’s websites

  • Gathering accurate product images and making sure they are web optimized 

  • Verifying inventory information and product accuracy

  • Completely merchandising products on Magento from start to finish in a timely manner

  • Word mapping and assigning color swatches

  • Identifying inventory data issues and resolving them

  • Special projects when time allows as assigned by the Web Merchandising Manager

 

Qualifications

  • Understanding of web technologies, SEO, and how search engines work

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word

  • Familiarity with outdoor gear  

  • Ecommerce and or CMS software experience

  • Comfortable with basic editing skills in photoshop

  • PC environments don’t scare you

  • A willingness to learn the ins and outs of ecommerce
