Tune and Rental Technician

The Tune and Rental technicians are responsible for renting and maintaining both rental and customer equipment. This position requires exceptional attention to detail while working with deadlines in a fast-paced team environment. The Tech will spend much of their time customer-facing assisting with rentals, performing various tune work on equipment, and organizing the Rental and Tune Departments. This is a temporary position with the potential for it to turn into a permanent position for the right candidate.

Job Responsibilities

• Greeting customers at the Tune Shop and/or Rental counters
• Assess customer needs and offer advice on services
• Assist customers in filling out proper paperwork
• Train and learn the proper way to use Next Adventure’s shop machinery safely
• Edge, wax and repair skis and snowboards 
• Acquire appropriate binding certifications and product knowledge from all required manufacturers and adhere to the associated rules and regulations surrounding working with ski bindings
• Train and learn all of the functions of the Easyrent software as it pertains to rental operations
• Assist, measure and adjust rental bindings to skis, snowboards, snowshoes and other rental assets
• Assist on the retail floor as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a tune shop preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate
• Previous customer service experience in ski/snowboard shop (preferred)
• Ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines 
• Previous experience working with a team
• Ability to talk about general ski and snowboard nomenclature 
• Ability to assess ski and snowboard damage and provide recommendations to repair
• Light to moderate lifting, with reasonable accommodation
• Standing for long periods of time
• Willing to use machinery to wax, edge and tune skis and snowboards 
• Basic math skills
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Proficient with, or a quick study on, Microsoft, Google and internal software applications
