Ever wondered what you are paying for when you purchase an Invasive Species Permit; why it is required, and what do the funds go to? Join Next Adventure and Hopworks as our presenter, Brian Steves, demystifies this topic. Brian is a marine ecologist with the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) Marine Invasions lab which is based in Edgewater, MD. He is stationed at Portland State University where he is a part of the Aquatic Bioinvasion Research and Policy Institute (ABRPI). Brian will touch on the paper that he Co-Authord "Tsunami-driven rafting: Transoceanic species dispersal and implications for marine biogeography" as well as the citizen science projects in Oregon that are monitoring Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS).
