Summer Solstice Adventure Race & Block Party
JOIN BASE CAMP BREWING CO + OUTDOOR PROJECT, ALONG WITH NEXT ADVENTURE, TO KICK-OFF SUMMER WITH AN ADVENTURE RACE HOSTED BY RARE EARTH ADVENTURES, LIVE MUSIC, OUTDOOR GAMES, A CLIMBING WALL, GEAR DEMOS, GIVEAWAYS, GREAT FOOD AND, OF COURSE, DELICIOUS BREWS!
AT THIS YEAR'S EVENT WE'LL BE RAISING FUNDS FOR OUTDOOR SCHOOL FOR ALL. PROCEEDS FROM PINT SALES WILL BENEFIT GETTING ALL OREGON 6TH GRADERS A WEEK OF OUTDOOR SCHOOL.
ADVENTURE RACE 2016
This summer Rare Earth Adventures, in conjunction with Base Camp Brewery and Outdoor Project, will be hosting a new feature as part of the 2016 Summer Solstice Festival.
Join us for a 7-part Adventure Race through Portland and crossing the finish line at the festival. You’ll paddle, run, bike, and climb your way to the finish.
The Details:
Teams of 4 people
You must provide your own bike, everything else (kayak and climbing gear) will be included. If you have your own equipment for a stage, feel free to use it.
The Race:
Each team of 4 will be split into 2 groups for the first portion of the race.
Group A
Meet at Sellwood Park
Stage 1a: Kayak challenge – each member will complete a part of the challenge
Stage 2a: Run 4.1 miles to Evolution Fitness – Both members will run together
Group B
Meet at Rare Earth Adventures office in Troutdale
Stage 1b: Both members will ride 10.1 miles to The Lumberyard Bike Park (Secure bike storage will be provided)
Stage 2b: Both members will then run 5.1 to Evolution Fitness
Stage 3:At Evolution Fitness, teams will reunite for an altitude room challenge
Stage 4: Teams will then run a few blocks over to Portland Rock Gym for a team climbing challenge
Stage 5: Final run to Base Camp Brewery and the finish line
