From the size range predicted for your height, how do you choose whether to go on the longer side or the shorter side? Well, that also depends but here is what Liberty Skis says:

Reasons to select a shorter sized ski:

  • You are a beginner or intermediate skier
  • You weigh less than average for your height
  • You like to make quick, short turns and keep your speed reasonable
  • You want a ski that is going to carve quickly, with only camber and no rocker

Reasons to select a longer ski:

  • You are a fast and aggressive skier
  • You weigh more than average for your height
  • You plan to spend your time on and off designated trails
  • You plan to ski a twin-tip ski
  • You want a ski that has a lot of rocker (allowing more float, but making the ski "feel" shorter)
