This is an intensive 3 day course for currently certified and active ACA Level 4 Whitewater Kayak Instructors. The course will cover group management concepts, boat/shore based rescues, technical skills, and technical knowledge. Participants must be current L4 whitewater kayak instructors and have taught/reported at least two Level 4 skills courses within the last two years. All participants are encouraged to review and practice the Level 5 Adv. Whitewater Kayak Skills Assessment Criteria before the course.
About the Instructor Trainer: Ben Morton
Ben is a certified American Canoe Association Instructor Trainer Educator. He comes from a background of outdoor education and has worked with a variety of paddling schools throughout the country and abroad including Otter Bar Kayak School, Nantahala Outdoor Center, National Outdoor Leadership School, and DeRiemer Adventure Kayaking. Ben works very hard to build a “student centered” atmosphere that caters to meeting students "where they are" and addressing what they need and want.
